03.4 — MOBILE APPS

An upright planet for an upright screen.

Uranus is the only planet that carries its rings upright; phones are held upright too. Our apps are designed for a portrait screen and one hand from day one, and ship to iOS and Android from a single codebase.

URANUS

Uranus Tilted 98° on its axis, it is the only planet that carries its rings upright, just like the phone standing in your hand.

What you get

URANUS EFFECT · 98° AXIS

Like the planet whose ring stands upright, made for the screen held upright.

  1. 01
From a horizontal world to an upright screen

The desktop is a horizontal world; a phone is held upright. An app is not a shrunken website: it is built for the upright screen from the start.

  2. 02
    Thumb reach

Everything you use often sits in the lower half of the screen, where your thumb reaches with ease. The app works with one hand.

  3. 03
    Pay with one tap

Saved cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay; on an upright screen, in a single tap.

Why Uranus?

Most planets in the solar system carry their rings and orbits flat. Uranus, with its axis tilted 98°, carries its rings upright. A mobile app is the same: the desktop is a horizontal world, but a phone is held upright. That is why we don’t treat an app as a shrunk-down website; we design it from the start for the upright screen.

Why a mobile app?

Your customers spend most of their day on their phones. A good mobile app puts your brand on their home screen: it brings them back with a notification, takes an order in a single tap and doesn’t ask for card details every time. A website gets found; an app stays.

How does it work?

First we put the user flow on paper: who does which task, from which screen, in how many taps. Then we build a clickable prototype and test it with you and, where possible, with real users. Once the design is settled we move on to development and send a testable build to your phone every week. Before launch we complete performance and security tests on different devices, and we upload the app to the stores ourselves.

What apps do we build?

Technology

Flutter or React Native for the interface, Xcode for iOS builds and store publishing; on the back end, APIs written in Node.js, Go, .NET or Rust; Supabase, MongoDB or Firebase for the database and user sign-in; Firebase for push notifications; and Stripe, PayPal and similar providers for payments. The choice is made together, based on the project’s needs; the app’s source code is yours.

Frequently asked questions

How long does mobile app development take?

It depends on the scope. A basic app usually launches in 6–10 weeks; apps with payments, a dashboard and integrations in 3–5 months. A clear timeline is set at the first meeting.

Do you develop separately for iOS and Android?

In most projects the app ships to both platforms together from a single codebase, with Flutter or React Native. If the camera, sensors or deep platform-specific features are needed, those parts are written in native code, and the iOS side is built and published with Xcode.

Do you upload the app to the App Store and Google Play?

Yes. We manage publishing, including opening the developer accounts, the store visuals, the review process and later releases.

Do you provide maintenance and updates after launch?

Yes. We offer a monthly maintenance agreement covering compatibility with operating system updates, bug fixes and new features.

Can it work with my existing website or system?

Yes. If your current system has an API, the app connects to it; if not, a secure API layer is written between the app and your system.
